Two glorious counties hiding a treasure of discoveries and both places are relatively unknown by people outside Ireland.  Sligo – famed by one of our best literary giants WB Yeats is dominated by the beautiful Benbulben Mountain.  Mayo - offers miles of coastline, vast bogs and a wealth of walking.

This holiday captures the best of these two amazing counties.  Sligo offers wonderful beaches, golf courses and ancient monuments. WB Yeats (one of Ireland’s most famous authors) found Sligo inspiring, His grave can be seen at Drumcliffe at the foot of Benbulben, the highest mountain range in Sligo and one of the most picturesque areas in Ireland .Mayo is Ireland’s third largest county, remote, wild, but beautiful. St. Patrick and his Holy Mountain dominate this country. No other place in Ireland has such a contrast between remote countryside and lively towns and villages, fantastic cliff walks and coastal views.

Day 1 Arrive in Sligo for your Briefing Session followed by an evening meal together.  Overnight in Sligo.

Day 2 Walk along King’s Mountain, Benbulben Plateau and Swiss Valley including the Glencar Waterfall.  Dinner and overnight in Sligo.

Day 3 Today you walk the northside of the Plateau to Truskmore and Eagles Rock. Dinner and overnight in Sligo

Day 4 Transferring West you walk the spectacular North Mayo Cliffs. A “must” walk. Dinner and overnight in Belmullet

Day 5 This is your “free” day on the Mullet Peninsula. Enjoy a short walk on Erris Head or a short boat trip to Iniskea Island. Overnight and Dinner in Belmullet.

Day 6 The remote and inspiring  Bangor Trail, under the shadow of Nephin Beg is your walk today. Overnight and Dinner Westport.

Day 7 Croagh Patrick, The Reek, is Mayo’s holy mountain and you climb it today to enjoy spectacular views of Clew Bay.  Overnight and farewell Dinner in Westport.
